Leeds United secured back-to-back Premiership victories for the first time this season after Steve Caldwell's early header and Mark Viduka handed them a 2-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers.
Both sides needed a lightening start, but it was the visitors who seized control with Caldwell netting the fastest effort of the day with a goal after just one minute and 32 seconds.
Jermaine Pennant played a quick corner to Gary Kelly who lofted a deep cross to the back post where the on-loan defender from Newcastle United eluded his marker and powerfully headed past Brad Friedel.
Rovers had a penalty claim moments later, however referee Steve Dunn waived away Jonathan Stead's protests after Michael Duberry muscled him out in the penalty area.
Shortly after, Friedel palmed over Alan Smith's stinging drive, after Lorenzo Amoruso miss-judged Paul Robinson's long goal kick, Neill test the England keeper with a left-footed effort - but it was well saved.
Leeds were handed a chance to test Friedel from a set piece after Smith was fouled by Craig Short, however Harte, who was back in the side for Domi, failed to test the American keeper.
Stead then latched onto Andy Cole's flicked header in the box, but his first-time shot was comfortably saved by the well-positioned Robinson.
Seth Johnson, whose only goals this term have come against Rovers, was given time and space to shoot outside the box, however his left-footed drive fizzed just wide of Friedel's left post.
Leeds were forced on the back foot soon after, but the threat was from an unlikely area, with Short bursting into the box with a barn-storming run before the visitors regained possession.
Blackburn began the better of the teams after the interval with Stead working space in the box, however his effort was tame and saved down low by Robinson.
Leeds should have made it two minutes later, however Milner's close-range shot was superbly tipped onto the bar by Friedel after Smith worked space outside the box.
Graeme Souness's side responded in fine fashion with Andy Cole causing the visitors all sorts of problems, although somehow Eddie Gray's men held firm despite good pressure.
With Rovers pressing Viduka edged out marker Amoruso but the big Australian's shot just beat Friedel's far post with only the former Liverpool shot-stopper to beat.
Rovers almost levelled matters late on, but Cole's point-blank right-footed effort in the box was superbly saved by Robinson who got two hands on the fiercely struck shot.
Within minutes the match was wrapped up when Pennant burst away down the right and his cross was dummied by Smith in the box for Viduka to crash in the shot at the far post into the roof of the net.
Blackburn did pull one goal back late on, however Short's effort, a free header in the box from a right-wing cross, was the last kick of the game and not enough and left the home side no time to claim an unlikely point.
The victory failed to lift the Yorkshire outfit out of the bottom three thanks to Portsmouth's draw at Charlton, while Manchester City are two points clear following their late home draw to Wolves.
