Farnborough and Dagenham saw their FA Cup dreams die in cruel fashions in the Fifth Round, leaving Rochdale to take on the mantle of giantkillers.
Boro's controversial decision to switch their tie to Highbury backfired with Arsenal battering them 5-1, thanks to a brace from Francis Jeffers. The Conference side also had Christian Lee sent off in the first half.
Dagenham were seconds away from a replay when Norwich sub Zeema Abbey struck the only goal of an even affair, meaning there will not be a non-league presence in the Fifth Round.
But Division Three will have a side in the hat thanks to goals from Paul Conner and Gareth Griffiths that gave Rochdale a 2-0 win over Gary McAllister's Coventry - only the second time they have gone this far in the competition.
West Brom became the latest Premiership to end up on the cup scrapheap as Heidur Helgason's goal gave Watford a 1-0 win, while Southampton needed a last-gasp equaliser from Kevin Davies to avoid a home defeat by Millwall, who had led through Steve Claridge.
Earlier in the day, Mamady Sidibe's late leveller earned Gillingham another crack at Leeds, who had led through Alan Smith, but saw Mark Viduka sent off for elbowing, live on Sky Sports.
