Arsenal move a dream, says Cygan
Adams set to call time on career

Martin Keown has signed a new two year contract at Arsenal.

The England defender was being chased by West Ham and Newcastle after his contract with the Gunners expired, but his magnificent performances towards the end of the double-winning season persuaded Arsene Wenger to offer him a new deal.

Keown said: "I'm delighted it's all been sorted out. There was no way I wanted to leave and that became obvious. Arsenal were aware that other clubs were interested in me and I don't think that surprised them.

"But I wanted to stay and they wanted me to stay. Now it's been resolved I can start looking forward to next season."

Keown will battle with newboy Pascal Cygan to partner Sol Campbell at the heart of Arsenal's defence.
