Sky Sports will show exclusive live coverage of Copa America 2007, the South American international football championship.

The new deal - with rights owner Traffic Sports Marketing, negotiated by RDA TV - means that Sky Sports will show live football every month in 2007, with around 30 live matches in June and July.

Ten nations - including hosts Venezuela and guests Mexico and USA - will contest the 42nd Copa America from Tuesday 26 June to Sunday 15th July.

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, USA and Venezuela will know the make-up for the opening group stages after February's draw.

Among the stars who could line up in Venezuela are Argentina's Lionel Messi and Javier Saviola, Brazil's Kaka and Robinho and Landon Donovan of the USA.

Brazil are the current holders after beating Argentina on penalties in the Final of the last tournament in Peru in 2004.

The tournament is the oldest international football competition in the world. Argentina and Uruguay are the most successful nations, each having won the tournament 14 times.

Brazil have been champions seven times, Paraguay and Peru twice and Bolivia and Colombia once each.

The Copa America begins three days after Sky Sports' exclusive live coverage of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship and the following month brings a new Barclays Premiership season with more live games than ever on Sky Sports.
