England's 5-0 defeat of Andorra is another positive for Steven McClaren but just how poor were the opposition and is Peter Crouch now an automatic choice? Have your say.

Tournament after tournament we fail to impress, then a few friendlies and a few Euro/World Cup qualifiers later - against dire teams - the nation is saying how great England really are. I fail to see it, look at Scotland for instance, was it 6-0 against Faroe Islands? And they aren't a great team. My question is: Why is it, whenever we arrange friendlies, they're always against mediocre teams? I'd like to see a few friendlies against the great teams. As for Peter Crouch; fair enough, on paper his goalscoring tally is second to none. But I still don't see him as a world class goalscorer. Look at the teams he's scored against, a hat-trick against Jamaica, two goals against Andorra, need I go on? I'd like to see how he would fare against the best defence in the world, Italy.
Ste, Manchester

Only 5-0? You must be rubbish. Six is where it's at.
Matt Breckenridge, Glasgow

Even against awful opposition Lampard yet again couldn't muster a performance anything above awful. For 90 minutes he did nothing in the most influential position on the field. Hargreaves was supposed to be covering him and he did more attacking than Lampard did! Why Gerrard is being wasted on the right I'll never know, especially with Lennon chomping at the bit to play! He should be moved into the middle and allowed to do whatever he wants. Along with Rooney, he has the ability to change the game with one moment of magic.
Dave , London

Good performance but I wish Peter Crouch would do the robot. That's the only downer of the game.
Edi Careless, Gamlingay

England were fantasic on Wednesday. Hargreaves once again proved England fans wrong again by putting in a sensational performance. Gerrard and Crouch was outstanding once again as was Jermain Defoe - proving Martin Jol and Sven wrong.
Tom Williams, Beverley

A fantastic performance by England. No doubt about it. But who expected Andorra to pose a certain threat anyway. It should have been a walkover from the start. The real test from England should come when they face the bigger guns.
Jiahao, Singapore

England showed an excellent performance yesterday against Andorra with an impressive victory of 5-0. I think John Terry being the new captain is going to give England more wins much like this one.
Amanda , New York

A really positive performance by England yesterday, good to see Jermain Defoe scoring again too. The midfield looks very strong and I think Gerrard benefits more playing on the right and Hargreaves and Lampard look like they could start a formidable partnership.
Kate Sherwood, Thame

Every stiker knows that when you are on two goals, to be subbed is like a bullet to the heart. Why didn't he leave Andy Johnson for the other game and give Defoe the chance to get an international hat-trick. Lampard was shocking. England were great against a team with a population of a small London borough. Time will tell!
Joel, London

Some positives gained in that Hargreaves again showed class, Lennon showed his speed and Lampard showed he again is uninspiring in an England shirt. A bigger test awaits in Skojpe on Wednesday though.
Glen Banyard, Ely, Cambs

Of course no one expected Andorra to do well, but surely with Ayala in defence and Vieira in holding midfield they should have been better defensively?
P McGovern, Brussels

Lennon should be on the right, everytime this boy comes on he's always making an impact. Drop Frank Lampard, what difference is he making? He isn't scoring, so what exactly is he doing?
Shaun , Croydon

Crouch seems a different player at international level. I was at the match and he really looked a threat to Andorra. Personally, I'd drop Owen - he has nothing that we couldn't afford to put on the bench. Andorra were disgraceful - every time we had the ball one of them would fall down. Eventually, we all shouted "Play on!" and thank you Mr Lampard for doing so!
Robin Johnson, Manchester

Having watched Lennon for the short time he was allowed to show his skills, I wonder how long it will be before the England management play him at the start of the game. Who should be left out? Frank Lampard - he seems to need a rest.
A Neville, Waterlooville

Andorra has a population of 70,549 - like England playing a Division 2 side - certainly 5-0 is nothing to get excited about.
Stephen Smith, Albatera, Spain

Great showing, but few of these players are assured of their places. Gerrard and Hargreaves are among the few exceptions. As well as Crouch is doing he should be dropped once Rooney and Owen return. Downing is doing all he can to keep his place on the left but that should be a tall order. And of course there is the ever mediocre Frank Lampard who turned in yet another uninspiring display. With Aaron Lennon playing so well, Lennon for the right Gerrard in the middle and Lampard on the bench anyone?
Alex Hall, Liverpool
