Ruud van Nistelrooy has asked to leave Manchester United. Where will he go now and who will replace him at Old Trafford next season? Let us know your feelings on the matter.

I am a Man Utd fan and I am upset Ruud van Nistelrooy is going. If we get Torres or David Villa it would not be such a big loss.
Shaun Cameron, Bolton

I am sad to see Ruud leave, as he is one of the best strikers we have had at Man United. I feel the only way we can replace him is getting Torres, he is the best striker available. I wish you would stay Ruud, you will be a miss to English football!!!
Stuart West, Brighton

He's over the hill. The World Cup comfirmed it. Not a loss at all so sell him to the highest bidders. Then let's buy fresh young meat with fire in their bellies like....Torres and Spain's goalkeeper. With youth coming through the reserves, like Rossi, what's all the fuss about? Please stay Ronaldo!!!!!! WE MUST NOT LOSE YOU!!!!
Colton Wythmes, Wandsworth

Bad.. Ruud is a very good striker, and Man U have only three strikers with Ruud (Saha and Rooney).
Rafael Braga, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

I think Ruud has been given no choice but to leave after being humiliated last season, Fergie better have something up his sleeve or this may be his last season as well.
Matt Bailey, woking

If Ruud ends up at Real Madrid, he will score 40 goals with the service Beckham provides.
Joseph, New York

Ruud I did not think was as good a striker as everyone thinks he was. T Henry is the best in the world and Ruud could never lace his shoes. That tells me what kind of player he is - poor but very poor ruud. P.S. BYE BYE not a loss to English football.
John Black, Motherwell

Why is Ruud leaving?
Emran, Birmingham

Ruud don't go please.
Le Duy Binh, Hanoi, Vietnam

All I can say is that Man Utd are making a big mistake. He is the best striker to have played under Ferguson (the number of goals he has scored prove that), and unless they get a proven goalscorer as a replacement they are in for a tough time next season. As a Bayern Munich fan I would be happy to see him come to Bayern, but we already have Makaay, Santa Cruz, Pizarro and Podolski.
